BPS Joint Meetings

On 12th July 2004, the Society organised a meeting with UK-based pain specialists with view of exploring ways in which the Society might better engage and represent the needs of British pain scientists. One of the results of the meeting was to organise one-day joint symposia with scientific organisations.

The Courses & Meetings Committee, at that time chaired by Dr Paul Watson, took on this initiative and liaised with representatives from the British Neuroscience Association, the British Pharmacological Society and the British Physiological Society.

The first meeting was held jointly with the British Neuroscience Association on 14 October 2005 in Milton Keynes.
