Description
of Activities
and Scientific Focus |
- To improve awareness of pain and the specific barriers
to the effective implementation of pain treatments
in developing countries.
- To improve the knowledge of patients, health care
workers and the public regarding pain management in
developing countries.
- To facilitate the communication of views, knowledge,
ideas and ideals between healthcare workers from developing
and developed countries.
- To engage in Advocacy, where appropriate, to highlight
the need for, and importnance of pain management in
the overall part of developing countireis healthcare
agenda.

To organise meetings, seminars and workshops focusing
on pain management issues in developing countries.

To support culturally sensitive research into pain
and pain management issues in and of developing
countries.

To support the work of the IASP developing world
committee

To look into innovative ways of facilitating communication
between healthcare professionals with an interest
in the developing world e.g. a web based forum for
the exchange of ideas and knowledge related to pain
management in developing countries.
