and Scientific Focus |
- To contribute to the objectives of the British Pain
Society and the International Association for the
Study of Pain on mattersrelating to pain management
in primary and community care.
- To improve knowledge and understanding of pain management
and its outcomes in primary and community care.
- Through sharing best practice, to enhance the skills
of those involved in delivering pain services and
pain management in primary and community care.
- To organise meetings, seminars and workshops on
aspects of pain management in primary and community
care.
- To establish and maintain links with other professional
organisations and societies related to pain management
in primary and community care.
- To maintain a register of resources relating to
primary and community pain management for health care
practitioners and people with pain.

Launch Meeting
Challenges and how to overcome

The Primary & Community Care Special Interest Group
held its launch meeting chaired by Dr Mark Porter and
Professor Richard Langford.
The meeting included the following lectures:
- Opioids and Chronic Pain
- Pain Management in community - a UK perspective
- Patient Pathways
- Pain education for GP's, Nurses and AHP's
- Pain and its effects on sleep
