What is hypnosis? Why might you wish to use hypnosis – what is the evidence that it works? How could hypnosis facilitate your pain management?
Learning outcomes include
- To understand the theory and evidence behind using hypnosis in pain management
- To develop awareness of where and when hypnosis might be used in pain management
- To be able to establish rapid rapport with patients and take a therapeutic history
- To have induced and experienced hypnosis
- To feel confident in providing simple techniques of self-hypnosis and visualisation skills to patients
There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and practice throughout the day.
