Join our multidisciplinary team at Starship Children’s Hospital, New Zealand’s leading tertiary paediatric facility, as a Paediatric Pain Medicine Specialist.
This permanent role offers flexible FTE options and is open to both local and international applicants.
Working within the Paediatric Complex Pain Service, you’ll collaborate with a compassionate, expert team including:
a Pain Medicine Physician
a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
a Psychologist
Specialist Nurses
a Physiotherapist
an Occupational Therapist.
Together, you’ll deliver community-based outpatient care and complex inpatient pain management for children and adolescents with chronic and complex pain conditions. This is a rare opportunity to shape service development, advance paediatric pain care, and make a lasting difference for young people and their whānau.
About you
You bring proven expertise in paediatric and adolescent pain management, thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting, and are committed to holistic, equitable care.
Qualifications and registration requirements include the following:
- Vocational registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- FFPMANZCA or equivalent preferred
- Alternatively, you may be a vocationally registered Paediatrician, Paediatric Surgeon, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, or Anaesthetist with additional training and/or experience in pain medicine
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential. Preference will be given to New Zealand citizens residents in line with employment regulations, though overseas applicants are encouraged to apply
