British Pain Society joins Pain Relief Foundation to honour Felicia Cox at 25th Annual Lecture
27th Oct 2026
The British Pain Society was proud to join the Pain Relief Foundation for its 25th Annual Lecture, which this year honoured the life and work of Felicia "Flick" Cox FRCN, MSc, RN.
The event brought together more than 230 attendees for an evening celebrating Felicia’s life, achievements and contribution to the pain community.
Chaired by Professor Michelle Briggs, the programme included an opening contribution from Professor Roger Knaggs and a moving tribute to Felicia from Gillian Chumbley. Professor Candy McCabe then delivered the Annual Lecture,“Supporting people to live well and die well with chronic pain.”
The evening also included a significant moment for the British Pain Society, when Flick’s partner, Dr John Farrimond, was presented with Felicia’s British Pain Society Medal of Distinction on her behalf.
Our sincere thanks go to the Pain Relief Foundation, the speakers and everyone who attended and helped make this such a fitting celebration of Felicia’s legacy.
The recording is now available online for anyone who was unable to join the event, or who would like to watch the lecture again.
