OPPORTUNITY: EDITOR FOR PAIN NEWS

Become an integral part of the British Pain Society team and contribute to the dissemination of valuable information and insights in the field of pain management. Your role as Editor of Pain News will shape the conversation and foster collaboration among our diverse community of members.

About Pain News:

Pain News serves as a vital platform for members of the British Pain Society, providing updates, clinical reports, and news relevant to the field of pain management. Currently edited by Dr. Rajesh Munglani, Pain News is distributed quarterly to Society members, facilitating communication and collaboration within our community.  Pain News plays a pivotal role in keeping our members informed and engaged in the dynamic field of pain management.

Responsibilities:

  • Curate and edit content for each issue of Pain News, ensuring relevance and quality.

  • Coordinate with contributors to gather articles, letters, and notices of meetings.

  • Manage the editorial process, including copyediting and liase with the Publisher re layout. 

  • Collaborate with the British Pain Society team to align content with BPS goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Passion for pain management and serving the needs of the British Pain Society community.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Previous editorial experience preferred but not required.

  • Encouraging pain professional and patients to submit articles to pain news.

  • You should anticipate this role will take about 4 hours per week of your time.

  • You will need to be able to respond in timely fashion to emails especially when close to publishing deadlines.
