2026 Neuropathic Pain Special Interest Group Education Day

This one-day education event brings together clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals to update knowledge and skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of neuropathic pain. Through expert presentations, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities, delegates will enhance their competence and confidence in applying evidence-based strategies in clinical practice. Topics include updated guidelines, pharmacological and non-pharmacological management, diagnostic innovations, neuromodulation, condition-specific challenges, and the use of real-world evidence to guide patient care.

  • Clinicians in pain medicine, neurology, primary care, and allied health.

  • Researchers with an interest in neuropathic pain, particularly early- and mid-career investigators.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this event, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the current landscape of neuropathic pain management, including recent guideline updates.

  2. Critically appraise pharmacological therapies, including efficacy, safety, and patient considerations.

  3. Evaluate the evidence supporting non-pharmacological and multidisciplinary interventions.

  4. Apply advanced diagnostic tools, such as quantitative sensory testing, to improve patient assessment.

  5. Interpret condition-specific challenges in neuropathic pain, including diabetic neuropathy and cancer pain.

  6. Assess the indications, outcomes, and patient selection for neuromodulation in neuropathic pain.

  7. Analyse the role of real-world evidence in shaping clinical practice and healthcare policy.

  8. Identify emerging research priorities and future directions in neuropathic pain management.
