Brought to you by the British Pain Society's Headache SIG, this conference is dedicated to exploring the latest developments and innovations in the field
Delegates can expect a stimulating and insightful agenda examining new treatments and approaches from diagnosis to treatment. Including opportunities to share knowledge and best practice with multidisciplinary peers, and hear from subject matter experts, this conference is a must for anyone involved in the research, treatment, or management of headache. The meeting is open to all health care professionals, including GPs with a special interest, trainees, consultants, nurses, pain specialist, neurologist, etc.
Overall aim of the event

To enhance health care professionals’ knowledge and confidence in the diagnosis, investigation, and management of primary headache disorders.

To provide updates on recent advances in headache research and emerging therapeutic options.

To support the practical application of headache treatments through hands-on clinical skills training.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this event, participants will be able to:

Describe the key clinical features and diagnostic criteria of primary headache disorders

Identify appropriate investigations and differential diagnoses in patients presenting with headaches to optimize clinical decision-making.

Explain the mechanisms, indications, practical considerations and real-world efficacy of the newer migraine treatments and neuromodulation techniques.

Gain experience in practical procedures related to headache management, including:

Administration of botulinum toxin injections following the PREEMPT protocol,

Performance of cranial nerve blocks,

Subcutaneous and intravenous delivery of CGRP monoclonal antibodies,

Prescribing gepants in clinical practice.

Interpret and apply current research findings and audit data to improve patient care and inform treatment pathway strategies.

Integrate multidisciplinary approaches to headache management, enhancing collaboration between clinicians and researchers for improved patient outcomes.
