BPS Endorses the ENTRUST-PE Framework

13th Oct 2025

The British Pain Society is pleased to formally endorse the ENTRUST-PE (Enhancing and Facilitating the Trustworthiness of Pain Evidence) framework, a key initiative designed to strengthen the credibility and transparency of pain research.

ENTRUST-PE addresses major challenges in the field, including insufficient equity and inclusion, methodological rigour,  incomplete reporting, lack of data accessibility, and concerns around research integrity. By bringing existing guidance and best practices into one cohesive framework, it offers practical support to researchers, journal editors, and clinicians working to produce and evaluate high-quality evidence in chronic pain.

This endorsement reflects BPS’s commitment to promoting research that patients, professionals, and the public can trust. Strengthening the evidence base is essential for improving clinical practice and ensuring more transparent, effective pain management strategies.
